Danum Valley is a relatively remote and undisturbed rainforest jungle in Sabah. It is renowned for its rich variety of flaura and fauna. The nearest town, Lahad Datu is about 82 km away (about 2 hours drive on mainly logging roads).
We promise you an inspiring and truly unforgettable experience, walking through lowland rainforest trails: the home to many birds, orangutans, gibbons, elephants, leopards, tarsier, deers and wild cats (and if you are lucky enough to discover a new species, we can add it to this list!)
Activities in this rainforest jungle include jungle walks, bird watching, canopy walkways, viewing of the rainforest from the treetops and night safaris.
Unlike any other mass-market or widely commercialised tourist destinations, there is only ONE accommodation at the Danum Valley Conservation Area. The Borneo Rainforest Lodge is a basic and rustic international standard lodge built beside the Danum River, accommodating a maximum of 60 people.

The Spectacled Flowerpecker is a new species of bird (belonging to the flowerpecker family) discovered in the Danum Valley Conservation Area in June 2009.

Day 1 : Lahad Datu – Danum Valley (Lunch &Dinner)
- Meet & greet from Lahad Datu airport or hotel lobby.
- Overland journey drive to the Danum Valley Conservation Area. Enjoy the changing landscapes of the regenerating forests to virgin rainforest of a million years old! Check-in to Borneo Rainforest Lodge and prepare yourself for an introduction trek on the Nature Trail & Canopy Walkway.
- Guided Safari Night Drive after dinner.
Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
Day 2 : Danum Valley (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
- Wake up to the calls of the Bornean Gibbons and start your day with guide trek to the View Point, Kadazandusun burial site – Coffin Cliff. Take a short break by the Natural Jacuzzi pool for a refreshing dip before lunch at the Lodge. Afternoon optional activities: A Guided Jungle Trekking or if weather permits, Water Tubing session down the Danum River for an hour or guest’s own leisure.
- Guided Night Walk on the Nature Trail after dinner.
Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.
Day 3 : Home (Breakfast)
- Optional: An early morning walk and return to the Lodge for lunch before checking-out for transfer to Lahad Datu Airport for onward flights.
